First minted in 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the world’s most popular bullion coin and the only official investment-grade silver coin issued by the US Government.

The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The word "LIBERTY" rounds the top half of the coin, "2024" the bottom, and "IN GOD WE TRUST" is situated to the right.

The reverse of the 2024 American Eagle Silver coin shows an eagle coming to land on a nest, carrying an oak branch. Inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM" ("Out of many, one"), "1 OZ. FINE SILVER", and "ONE DOLLAR". Emily Damstra, a member of the Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP), created the design, which was sculpted by the medallic artist Michael Gaudioso.
